Paolo Jorio is a partner in Studio Benessia – Jorio (formerly a partner in Studio Fubini – Jorio – Cavalli e Associati).
He graduated from the University of Turin. He is enrolled in the Turin Bar Association, as well as in the Special Bar admitted to legal aid before the Court of Cassation and other higher Courts.
He works in the field of commercial and insolvency law (with specific reference to business restructuring, in relation to which he has worked in numerous procedures of arrangement with creditors pursuant to Art. 160 et seq. of the Bankruptcy Law), debt restructuring agreements pursuant to Art. 182-bis et seq. of the Bankruptcy Law and reorganisation agreements pursuant to Art. 67 of the Bankruptcy Law), bankruptcy law (with specific reference to liability actions), national and international contract law (with specific reference to commercial contracts, M&A and the establishment of international joint ventures), banking law (with specific reference to securities law) and competition law (antitrust).
He has been a member of the board of directors of companies based in China and Brazil and, since the early 2000s, has assisted numerous Italian entrepreneurs in setting up joint ventures with local partners in China, Brazil, Hong Kong and Singapore. He has also been involved in the setting up and management of trusts, particularly in New York State, working with several leading New York and London firms.
He is a regular speaker at conferences organised by professional bodies and industrial and trade associations on insolvency and international law.
Since April 2022, he has been on the list of “Experts for the negotiation of business crises” established by the Chamber of Commerce of Turin pursuant to Law no. 147/21.
