Paolo Jorio is a partner at the Benessia-Jorio Firm (already partner of the Fubino-Jorio-Cavalli Firm).
He graduated from the Faculty of Studies in Turin. He is registered with the Bar Association of Turin, as well as on the Special List of Lawyers admitted to practice before the Court of Cassation and other Higher Jurisdictions.
He carries out his professional activities in the field of commercial and insolvency law, specifically regarding business restructuring, in which he has provided professional services in numerous preventive agreement procedures under Article 160 and following of the Bankruptcy Law, debt restructuring agreements under Article 182-bis and following of the Bankruptcy Law, and recovery agreements under Article 67 of the Bankruptcy Law. His expertise also includes insolvency law, particularly regarding liability actions, national and international contractual law, focusing on commercial contracts, M&A, and the establishment of international joint ventures. Additionally, he works in banking law, specifically related to securities intermediation, and competition law (antitrust).
He has served on the board of directors of companies based in China and Brazil, and since the early 2000s, he has assisted numerous Italian entrepreneurs in establishing joint ventures with local partners in China, Brazil, Hong Kong, and Singapore. He has also been involved in the creation and management of trusts, particularly in the State of New York, collaborating with several prominent firms in New York and London.
He is a regular speaker at conferences organized by professional associations and industrial organizations on topics related to insolvency law and international law.
Since April 2022, he has been listed as an "Expert for Business Crisis Negotiation" established at the Chamber of Commerce of Turin pursuant to Law No. 147/21.
